Can't decided which Seymour screen material is right for you? Check the write up on each screen material and the chart below to find the right material for your Home Theater.
Center Stage XD: With a higher gain (1.2), a higher level of acoustical transparency (1.4dB average attenuation above 2kHz) and a finer texture (1,739 holes per square inch), the Center Stage XD is the best acoustically transparent screen material for Home Theaters on the market. The Center Stage XD is the perfect acoustically transparent screen material for any Home Theater with darkly painted walls, no ambient light, and a minimum seating distance of 10 feet.
Center Stage UF: If your viewing distance from seating to screen is less than 10 feet, but you would like an acoustically transparent screen material in your Home Theater, the Center Stage UF is perfect for you. Although boasting a 2.2dB average attenuation, the UF material has a more smooth looking surface, allowing for a reduced seating distance of 6 feet, compared to the 10 feet minimum seating distance of the XD (this is possible because the hole density of the UF is less than hole density of the XD). The UF material works best in darkly painted rooms with no ambient light, and has a 160 degree viewing angle.
Glacier White: The perfect screen material for those not interested in an acoustically transparent screen material, but want a great looking screen with a wide viewing angle. The Glacier White screen material is designed for darkly colored rooms with no ambient light, has a 1.3 gain, has no minimum viewing distance, and has a wide, 160 degree viewing angle.
Glacier Gray: Similar to the Glacier White, the Glacier Gray is also a non-acoustically transparent screen material. The Glacier Gray, however has a lower gain of 0.8, and can tolerate minimal levels of ambient light, making it a popular choice among Home Theater enthusiasts. As long as you have a projector with an output of at least 2,000 lumens, the Glacier Gray is a great choice for you.
Matinee Silver: One of the newest additions to the line of ambient light rejecting materials, the Matinee Silver boasts a 2.0 gain, effectively doubling the white levels of your image. This screen material is perfect for rooms with lightly painted walls, moderate amounts of ambient light, and those seeking a non-AT screen material for their Home Theater. The Matinee Silver features active 3D and is available in fixed frames screens up to 114". A 1.8xW throw ratio is recommended.
Matinee Black: The most popular ambient light rejecting material, the Matinee Black has the ability to reject up to 87% of ambient light while boosting white levels by 40%. With a 1.4 gain, this ambient light rejecting screen material is perfect for rooms with lightly painted walls and severe levels of ambient light.
